Our Year So Far
September
During Mr. Hartwick's last month, music classes worked on a body percussion unit and prepared for the Truth and Reconciliation Ceremony. Mme Alysha had the opportunity to spend some time in the classes with Mr. Hartwick.
October
Kindergarten: We worked on steady beat and learned about the italian names and meanings for tempos

Grade 1/2: We started with steady beat and learning about tempo, then we did a short introduction to Boom Whackers
​
Grade 2/3: We worked a bit on instrument identification when listening to songs, then we started working with Boom Whackers
​
Grade 4/5: We spent the month learning about notation while using Boom Whackers.
​
Grade 6/7: We introduced recorders and learned the notes B,A,G, and E. We will return to recorders in the spring as well!

During our final class of the month in grades 2-7, we did Golden Microphone! Stay tuned for those results!
